Braun & Blanchard, or Braun y Blanchard in Spanish, was an major early shipping company in Chile, apparently based out of Valparaiso, that operated from at least the 1890's into the 1930's. Most of their ships were moderately sized, second hand vessels, some of which they salvaged off the rocks of Cape Horn and rebuilt. Exactly what became of the company isn't clear – possibly they became part of Patagonia Maritime Co. (or Compañía Marítima de la Patagonia) – but the trail goes cold in 1932 or '33. Tableware from this shipping line is rare.
